In Houston, there are many different ways to get around that many people have taken for granted for so long because of the ease of jumping in their car and going. This, however, isn’t the case any longer because of the effects that global warming and the economy are having on people. In many cases, these car shares can save the driver an average of about 20% over the costs of owning and maintaining their own car.

Nevertheless, there are some people that aren’t comfortable or able to drive a vehicle, but still need one in order to get to their destinations. For these people there are various options, including hiring a cab in order to complete their plans for the day. However, with the growing concerns about the economy and new sense of community that has sprung up all across the United States, another option that many people are turning to is a ride share.

Like a car share, you will be sharing the vehicle with other people when you enlist a ride share. At this point, however, ride shares and car shares part in their likenesses. With a ride share you will be responsible if you drive the car. Also, you will need to pay for some of the fuel (not so when using some car shares) and you may need to be able to pay for preventative maintenance if you travel with the same people a lot. Additionally, ride shares are much less organized and only a few websites offer the opportunity to connect with people in order to start using a ride share.
