Houston is still one of the cities in the United States that has not yet really ventured into the car sharing trend. However, Houston is slowly starting to see more and more car sharing companies crop up so it’s undoubtedly just a matter of time before car sharing becomes huge on Houston’s forefront.
What Car Sharing Companies are in Houston?
Metro Rideshare is one Houston car sharing company. The company is relatively new and so has a somewhat smaller fleet of vehicles. However, they are a fully operating car sharing company and can be a great way for Houston residents to get around when they need a ride.
VPSI Vanpooling is another innovative car sharing program but it does work a little differently. This company is primarily designed for those who work in an office together and need a ride getting to work every day. The vanpool will pick up all up, and drive you all home.
Connect by Hertz is a car sharing program that’s located at the University of Houston. This program is designed mostly for students but works like any other standard car sharing program.
Houston may not have been one of the first cities to start car sharing programs. But there have been many that have been put in place just over the past two or three years. And there’s no doubt that the trend is only going to continue with larger, nationally-known companies such as Zipcar also talking about expanding into Houston in the near future.
